Sail Course – Details
Attention Sailing Enthusiasts! Learn all about sailing with the Sail Course. This is a complete sail course created to serve the needs of the novice and experienced sailor, as well as the non-sailor. The course begins with basic boat designs and nomenclature, rigging, safety and sail processes. The course proceeds into physical aspects of sailing forces and techniques, sail applications, marlinspike, navigation rules, helmsmanship and handling of more difficult sailing conditions, and an introduction to heavy weather sailing.
Dates & Cost:
- Twice a week for 4 weeks with exam in week 4
- Sail Course – FREE for SLRPS & SCYC Members
- Sail Course – $200 for Non-Members
- Recommended Pre-Requisite: ABC3 Boating Safety Course

Student Manuals will be provided on a “loaner” basis for the duration of the course, but must be returned upon course completion. Manuals can be purchased separately if members would like a personal copy.
