Learn How to Become a Safe Boater and Enjoy Boating
St. Lucie River Power Squadron offers boating courses to help people develop and enhance safe boating skills. Our courses begin with basic boating safety with the America’s Boating Course 3rd Edition (ABC3) that allows people to earn the Florida Boating Safety ID Card. The ABC3 course covers both Federal and FL State boating regulations including required safety equipment, and is offered on a monthly basis. Advanced courses are presented at various times during the year depending on student interest (usually a minimum of 2-4 students are needed to schedule an advanced course). These courses include: Boat Handling, Marine Navigation, Advanced Piloting, Celestial Navigation, and On-the-Water Training. We also offer short 2-hour seminars on a variety of boating topics, such as Weather Forecasting, Tides & Currents, and others.

Classes are held at the St. Joseph Parish Life Center (Classroom #38), 1300 SE 10th St., Stuart, FL 34996. Heading East on 10th St., go past St. Joseph Church and turn right at Parkway Dr (4th driveway on right after the church). Go through the gate to enter the parking area. Look for a grey painted building. Classroom #38 is on the West (right) side of the building.
